I've had some difficulty with the non-pro version of Multiplicity and City of Heroes. I use the left computer for the primary and the computer on the right side as secondary. During gameplay I will run into this problem. I move the mouse to the right screen and switch computers. Then I move back to the primary and drop both mouse and keyboard control in City or Heroes. If I alt tab out of COH I can see that I still have control of both mouse and keyboard in other programs. If I move back to the secondary I have control over both on the secondary but short of unloading Multiplicity and COH on the primary and restarting both I haven't been able to find a solution. My Thanks, C

I have the exact same problem with EverquestLive (eq 1 some call it) I am using Multiplicty Pro.

System works fine in EQ2, its just EQ1 it messes up in.

I, too, had the same problem with CoH, but I hadn't played that game forever. Don't really want to re-enable my account though just to test out the new software I'm using in CoH. lol

I can say, however, I have not see this problem happen in WoW. I don't play EQ (anymore) or EQII.

same problem here. Thought I had it fixed by using mouse button to change control instead of seamless but im now looking at my perfectly uncontrollable CoH character.
Any advice/help from the devs be appreciated I cant live without my multiplicity and I like CoH .. what a dilemma.

just tried maxvista software and despite not being as nice as multi it works with no crashes or problems in CoH. I dont like it as much though so hopefully they fix this to work

There is no city of heros demo so we can't look into this problem currently.

If you can find an app which has a similar problem with a demo then we can investigate further.

Do you have fade desktop enabled or the status window showing?  If so what happens if those are disabled?

Neil,

Can we look into this some more? I am running into the same issues with Multiplicity and City of Heroes, which is the main reason I purchased the program.

If there are still no City of Heroes demos available, I can provide 14-day Free Trial passes for you to test with if needed.

Problem is as described by original poster. Oddly, the mouse moves, the game highlights objects under the cursor, et al; but no keyboard presses or mouse clicks are received by the game. The computer -is- receiving mouse clicks and key presses though, since I can alt-tab out and use other windows as normal; but switching back to the City of Heroes window yields the same problem.

Note that this does not affect the secondary PC at all; it runs perfectly fine.

Looking forward to securing tech support on this,

Q.

A 14 day free trial pass would be most helpful as we could then install it on a pc and reproduce this problem.

All right, give me an email address or some other means to get the information to you, and I will send.

Looking forward to seeing this fixed,

Have you found anything out yet Neil? The problems is still there. They just reactivated closed COH accounts and I tried playing. Works great until the main machine becomes unresponsive. May take up to 10 minutes to happen but it always does. Exiting CoH and renetering it on the main machine resyncs its. I use MP Pro with 4 computers.

I have tried with out and without clip board sharing, status screen and all other settings I can think of.

I am seeing similar behavior in Tycoon City New York and in Weird Worlds(Demo available)

In Weird Worlds, the mouse is still fully controllable, but the keyboard becomes disabled.

In Tycoon City New York, the mouse can select focus, but none of the mouse buttons can be activated. The keyboard also seems to stop working.

This bug has rendered my copy of multiplicity useless when playing these games. A workaround or bug fix would be greatly appreciated.

I have tried both of those games and have been unable to reproduce any problems with the mouse or keyboard after switching.  I was trying with the games on the primary, is this how you had them?

The only problems I had was the game minimizing when you switch if the status window & full screen fade were on and seamless mouse switching did not work in Weird Worlds, only hotkey switching.

Just adding my experiences to this. I have had this problem on any game written by Sony Online Entertainment. Matrix Online, Everquest, EverQuest 2, so on... The problem generally will not start for a good half hour to hour of play time. It seems to happen when doing a large number of mouse clicks on the other machine. Meaning that if i am playing two chars (one on each computer) then the one i am focusing on most works fine then when i switch to the other that one has locked up. Also if i am browsing on one and playing on the other the one with the game will lock up when i am doing a lot of browsing or searching. I wish I could give more exact information, please let me know how I can help solve this.
